Debris Netting: What a Qingdao Factory Actually Ships

Time : 2026-07-17
If you've been scrolling Alibaba for debris netting, you've seen the same spec sheet fifty times: HDPE, UV-stabilized, 50–200 GSM, green or orange. Everybody says it. Almost nobody explains what it actually means for your cargo, your timeline, or your claim rate.
We're Blue Ocean Plastic in Qingdao. We've run the debris netting line since 2009. This page is what we tell buyers who call us after getting burned by a cheaper debris netting quote.

What This Debris Netting Actually Does

People think debris netting is just "the green stuff on scaffolds." On a real jobsite it earns its keep four ways.
The obvious job: debris netting catches what falls — bricks, broken concrete, a wrench dropped from the fourth floor.
It holds dust down during demolition. Cities in the US, the EU, and increasingly the Gulf now write dust control into the permit itself. If your construction debris netting lets particulate blow onto the sidewalk, the inspector shuts you down.
It cuts wind. On an exposed high-rise or a coastal scaffold, wind alone can make the top platforms unworkable. Proper scaffold netting drops the wind load enough that crews can actually work at height.
And it hides the site from the street. Downtown contractors don't want pedestrians watching unfinished concrete. A blacker, tighter variant of the same debris netting solves that.
What debris netting does not do: catch people. That's fall-arrest net, a completely different product with a big open knit. Don't let a supplier sell you one as the other.

The HDPE Story Nobody Tells About Debris Netting

Almost every listing says "HDPE." Here's what actually separates a good roll of debris netting from a four-month failure.
Virgin HDPE resin comes in pellets. Before extrusion, you mix in UV stabilizer and antioxidant masterbatch. The cheap factories skip the masterbatch or under-dose it. The debris netting looks identical when it leaves the factory. By the first August on a Middle East or Australian site, it goes chalky, cracks when you grab an edge, and the GC blames you.
We compound our own masterbatch in-house. That means two things: we control the UV dose to the exact spec your debris netting project requires, and we can match custom colors without forcing you to buy 10 tons of one shade.

The Numbers, From a Factory Floor Perspective

When we quote debris netting, we talk about four things. You should too.
Weight. We call it GSM. Our standard production runs from 50 up to 200 grams per square meter. The bulk of our construction debris netting orders land between 90 and 140 GSM. Below 70 on a tall scaffold? You'll be replacing that debris netting before winter.
How much it shades. Fifty to sixty percent shade is the default debris netting. If your customer wants privacy, we go 80–90% — same knit, tighter stitch.
Roll dimensions. We slit from our max width of 6 meters. The most common cuts are 2m × 50m and 3m × 50m. Tell us your scaffold frame spacing and we'll match your debris netting size.
Edges. Heat-sealed selvedge so your debris netting doesn't unravel. Grommets every meter, or every 50 cm if you ask. This is the detail that separates a factory roll of debris netting from a repackaged reseller product.
Fire rating. For shopping centers, tunnels, and Gulf government projects, we produce debris netting that passes NFPA 701 and EN 13501 B1. We send the lab report before you pay the deposit — not after you raise a complaint about the debris netting.

Colors, By Market

Green ships everywhere. Orange is our biggest color for US DOT and highway debris netting work. Black is privacy-only. Blue sells to Scandinavia and the Middle East.
If your brand has a specific pantone, we'll dye your debris netting to match. We did a fluorescent orange run last year for a Canadian highway bid, and a black-with-green-stripe roll for a Singaporean contractor.

How We QA Every Roll of Debris Netting

Before anything goes into a container, every batch of debris netting passes three checks:
First, we test the incoming HDPE pellets for UV stabilizer content. If the resin doesn't hit the number, it doesn't go on the line to make debris netting.
Second, every roll of debris netting gets weighed at take-up. We ship within ±5% of your target GSM. A roll that's 10% light goes back — we don't ship it and hope you don't notice.
Third, we match color swatches under a light booth against your approved sample before slitting your debris netting order. Color drift is the number one complaint we hear from buyers who tried another factory.

Who Buys From Us

We ship to general contractors, scaffold netting rental yards, building-material distributors, and government infrastructure buyers. Our container customers are in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Australia, and the Gulf.

Questions We Get Every Week About Debris Netting

How many times can I reuse debris netting? On low-rise work, three to four jobs. Roll it up dry.

What's the minimum order for debris netting? Sample rolls ship in days. Trial orders start at one pallet.
Can we put our own label on the debris netting? Yes. Your tubes, your labels, your cartons.
Can you match a debris netting sample I already have? Send it. We'll reverse-engineer the GSM, shade rate, and color, then mail you a test roll.
Send us your dimensions and target GSM. We'll mail a sample roll of debris netting and a CIF quote back within one business day.
